Narrative

I first found Polly Ann Reeves living with her father William, mother Nancy, and brother George W on the 1850 Census for Dekalb County Alabama. They are listed at Rives on that census. By 1860, Polly Ann, her mother Nancy, and brother George W are found living with the family of Daniel & Mary Reeves (Relationship unknown) also located in Dekalb County Alabama. The father William is not listed. Their are additional children and I am positive at least one of them is another of Polly Ann's siblings. Polly Ann Reeves married Thomas McDuffey "Duff" Hooper October 13, 1871 in Etowah County Alabama. The marriage license lists her as "Mollie" Reeves. In 1880, Mollie is living in Etowah County Alabama with her Husband, children and Her mother Nancy.

It has always been told by my G Grandfather Thomas James Hooper who was Polly Ann's Grandson that his Grandmother (Polly) died in Chattanooga TN when the horse that was pulling the buggy she was riding in got spooked and her dress got caught in the wagon wheel pulling her off the wagon. This story has not been verified.

Polly and Thomas McDuffey had the following children:
  1. George Henry Hooper, b. 1872
  2. Loraisey Hooper, b. 1874
  3. Warren Van Hooper, b. 1876
  4. Freeman Lorenzo Hooper, b. 1878
  5. Thomas Parker Hooper, b. 1878
  6. William Isaac Hooper, b. 1882
  7. L Delia Hooper, b. 1884
