Narrative

In 1745, Richard Reeves appraised the estate of John Carty in Northumberland County. He may have worked as a carpenter, for the same estate paid him on 14 October 1745 for making Carty's coffin.

Northumberland County, Virginia Order Book 1743-1749, p237 from 11 Aug 1747:

The Justices attachment obtained John Reeves against the Estate of Richard Reeves is dismissed.
On the oration of Hezekiah Haynie on attachment (?) him & against the Estate of Richard Reeves for David Galloways recovery against the said Reeves and Raynie (?) able here the (?) court.

It appears however that there were two Richard Reeves's in the area.

Northumberland County, Virginia Order Bok 1749-1756, p54 from 13 Aug 1750:

A Deed and Bond from Richard Reaves to John Christopher was acknowledged by the said Reaves and ordered to be Recorded.
