Although the only children named in the will of Samuel Reeves were Mahala, Stacy and Samuel, Jr., Beulah Reeves parentage is documented in her marriage records. When Beulah married John Browning on 11 Feb 1828 in Mason County, Kentucky, consent was recorded by Samuel Reeves, father of the bride, and lists her mother as Ann Reeves.

Samuel Reeves' second wife Anne was born 1786 in Virginia and died after 1860 in Putnam County, Indiana.

Samuel Reeves was a witness on 1 Feb 1802 to the consent signed by James and Mary Fegans for their daughter Elizabeth to marry John Dicks in Mason County, Kentucky.

Weik's history of Putnam County, Indiana lists Samuel Reeves among the newcomers for the years 1829 and 1830.

The will of Samuel Reeves, Sr., written 2 Jun 1845, was proved 2 August 1850 in Putnam County. He mentions his wife Anne D. Reeves, sons Stacy and Samuel Jr. who were executors and a daughter Mahala. It is implied he had other children. He also mentions that his executors should make "one fourth of an acre so laid off as to include the family burying ground in the lower end of the orchard to be preserved for the purpose of a family burying ground forever."

His estate was probated 12 Feb. 1851 and a secondary copy of the will recorded in the Probate book. Stacy R. Reeves relinquished his right to administer the estate and handed it to John W. Reeves who was appointed administrator.

In both the 1850 and 1860 census of Putnam County, Indiana, widowed Anne D. Reeves was living in the home of her son John C. W. Reeves.
