Narrative

From Wake County Court Minutes, February Court 1802, pg 165:
Ordered that Arthur Reeves be bound an Apprentice to Christopher Christophers (?) to learn the Art and mistery of a Shoemaker untill he arrives to the age of twenty one years old, who at this time is about eleven years old.

Hartwell Reeves, son of Frederick Reeves of the Rives/Reeves family of Bute and later Franklin County was bondsman for Arthur Reeves' marriage in 1815. Presumably Arthur descends from that Reeves' family as well but his parents are currently unknown.

Arthur Reaves is listed on the Muster Roll of the Artillery, First Company, Detached from the Wake Regiment during the War of 1812. See http://files.usgwarchives.net/nc/statewide/military/1812roll.txt
