Transcript

To all Christian people to whome these presents shall come: I William Reeves of Salem in ye County of Essex in the Colloney of Massachusetts in New England, send greeting: know yee that I ye sd William Reeves, for a valuable consideration to me in hand given & paid, by John Kitchen of Salem aforesaid the receipt whereof I doe heareby acknowledge & thereof & of every pt & pcell thereof, due hearby acquitt & discharge him ye sd John Kitchen his heirs executors & administrators forever, by these presnts: have given, granted, aliened, bargained, sould enfeoffed & confirmed & by these presents doth fully clearely & absolutely give grant bargaine sell aliene enfeoffe & confirm unto ye sd John Kitchen his heirs executors administrators & assigns all my house housing & lands sittuate lying & being in Salem aforesaid being buttolled & bounded with the land of Paul Mansfield on the south and streete on the north side & with the land of Edward Bush on ye west side & the lands of Paule Mansifeld on the east site, with all & singular ye priviledges profitts comonages & appurtenances thereunto belonging in any manner or wise or thence to be had made or raysed unto him ye sd Jno Kitchen his heirs executors administrators or assigns & to his & their own sole & proper use & behoofe forever and I ye sd William Reeves doe hearby for me, my heirs executors & administrators covenant & promis to & with ye sd John Kitchen his heirs executors administrators & assigns yt before the ensealing & delivery of these presents I ye sd William Reeves am the true & pper owner of all ye aforesd bargained premises & have in myself full power & lawfull right to sell & dispose the same as aforesd as an estate in fee simple & that the same & every pt thereof is free & cleere from all other or former bargained sales gifts, grants, dowers, titles of dowers, claims or incumbrances whatsoever & shall & will warrant & defend the same against all & every pson or psons any waies lawfuly claiming or demanding the same or any pt or pcel thereof & I ye said William Reeves do heareby further covenant prmis & grant that I shall & will at all time & times be reddy & willing to give unto him ye sd Jno Kitchen his heirs executors admininstrators or assigns such further & ample assurance of ye aforesaid bargained premises, as in law or equitie can be desired or required, provided & it is nevertheless agreed & concluded by & betweene ye sd pties & it is the true intent & meaning thereof that ye sd William Reeves his heirs executors administrators or assignes or either or any of them, shall well & truly pay or cause to be paid unto ye sd John Kitchen his executors administrators or assignes the full & entire sum of sixty pounds in current silver moey of New Englad on or before the first day of July which shall be in ye yeare of our Lord one thousand six hundred seventy five at or in the now dwelling house of ye sd Jno Kitchen sittuate in Salem aforesaid: that then this present bargaine sale & grant shall sease determin be voyde & of none effect anything in these presents contained to the contrary thereof in anywise notwithstanding. In witnes whereof I the sd William Reeves have hereunto sett my land & seale this second day of July in ye year of our Lord one thousand six hundred seaventy two Annoqrs Egi Regis Carolis Secundi xxiiii
