I Robert Reeve of Hartford being sick & week but of good memory doe make & ordain this to be my last will & Testament hereby renouncing all former wills by me made whether by word or writing & this only to stand as my Last WillImp. I committ my soule to God in Jesus Christ my merciful redeemer through whose meritts along I hope for pardon of my sinns & acceptance with God.
2. For my body I desire it may have christiam burial in the place appointed according to the pleasure of executor here after named & my (?). & for that estate God hath blest me with I doe dispose of it as followeth To Elizabeth my wife Thirty pounds of my personal estate to be to her & her heirs forever, & a third of my real estate during her natural life & I having received but little of my father Not who God hath blest with a good estate I hope he will remember her & my children & doe something for them. When my debts which I owe in conscience were payd & discharged the remaynder of my estate I give & dispose of as followeth to my eldest son when he attaynes the age of twenty one years a double portion of my estate to him & his heirs forever & to the rest of my children equal portions my sonns to possess at the age of twenty one years & my daughters at the age of eighteen years or day of marriage which shall first & if any child dye before they be of age to receive their portions his or her portion to be equally divided amongst the survivers, It is my will that my land shall be to my sonnes & their heirs forever, to whome I doe give & bequeath it, & the improvements of my estate to be to my wife for the bringing up of my children till they come of age. I do constitute & appoint my loveing wife Elizabeth to be my executrix & my loveing friends Captn John Allyn ensigne Nath Standly & my dear brother John Skinner to be my overseers whoe I doe request to assist my wife & children with their best advice & council as there should be occasion of the same futhermore I give towards the building of Mr Foster a house forty shillings, & that this is my will I doe declare by setting here to my hand this 23th of December 1680: those words [enj Nath Standly] between 23 & 24 line were enterlined before subscription & those words estate in the margent
