Transcript

The deposition of John Cooke of Salem Blacksmith aged about sixty years and William Reeves of Salem aforesaid slaughterer aged about sixty years both in ye County of Essex in ye province of ye Massachusetts Bay in New England testifie & say that to our certain knowledge Capt. Thomas Flintt of Salem aforesaid yeoman did about thirty yeares since purchase about halfe an acre of land of Elizabeth Spooner of Salem aforesaid widow Butted & Bounded as followeth viz Westerly on ye lane that lead to ye north siuer southerly with ye main street & northerly & easterly with other land of ye said Spooners & that ye said Thomas Flintt & those deriving from & under him have quietly possessed & enjoyed ye same ever since to this day without any manner of lawfull lett hindrance or molestation from any persons whatsoever as ever these deponents heard or understood being next neighbours thereunto and further these deponents doe testifie that of said Thomas Flintt was possessed of ye said piece of land in his own proper right upon ye first Day of October in ye year of our Lord God One thousand six hundred ninety & two with othey? deriving from by or under him & he and they continue ye said possession thereof untill ye first day of October Seventeen hundred and four & so downe to ye Day of ye Date hereof as witness their hands hereunto afixed the 11 Day of May 1706.
