In the name of God Amen the 29 of Desember in the yeare of our Loard 1714 I John Reaves of Cape May in the County of Cape May yeman being very sick & weeke in body but of parfect mind & memory thanks be given unto God I have fore calling unto mind the mortality of my body & knowing that it is a poynted for all men once to dye do make & ordayn this my last will & Testament that is to say prinscipally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it & for my body I recommend to the Earth to bee buried in a Christian like & a desent maner att the descreshon of my executors nothing douting but att the general resurrection that I shall reseve the same that God hath apynted for me and as touching such worldly estate where with it hath pleased god to bles me with in this life I give demise & despose of the same in the following manner and form Imprimis I ive & bequeath to Sarah my deare & lufing wife the one half of my moveable estate whome I like wise constitute make & ordaine my onely executor of this my last will and testament and one half of my lands dureing her life and then to go to my child with the rest item i give to my daughter Sary the one half of my moveable estate with one half of the lands when shee comes to age item I give to John Ingrum att the expiration of ?time twelf pounds to be paid att the expiration of that time sheape or catel ?? dow heareby ? dis a nul & revoke all and every other wils and testments (before made?). in witness heareof i have set my hand & seal
