This Indenture made the thirteenth day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand even hundred and forty six Between William Reves Junr of Edgecombe County & in the Province of North Carolina of the one part, and John Rainwater of the other part Witnesseth that he the said William Reves Junr for and in consideration of the um of Fifty pounds sterling Money of England to him in hand paid by the said John Rainwater before the signing and ensealing of these presents already paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby Confess and acknowledge himself therewith fully Satisfied contented and paid and of every part and parcel thereof the said William Rives Junr his heirs Exrs Admrs and Assigns&c and every of them doth truly fully clearly and absolutely acquit and discharge hath bargained Sold and doth hereby these presents bargain sell alien make over and confirm unto him the Sd. John Rainwater his heirs Exrs Admrs or assigns &c One certain tract or parcel of Land containing One hundred & Sixty acres be the same more or less Situate lying and being in the County afsd Bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at a white (?) thence Southward to a Hickory 160 Pole thence to a Black oak 160 Pole, thence to a white oak 160 Pole to the first Station mentione. To Have hold and peaceably to Injoy (sic) the aforementioned Land with all houses orchards gardens woods ways waters underwoods & meadows ground with all other and Singular the Improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to the Said Land from the claim right or title of him the Said William Junr his heirs exers Admrs or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever to the only proper use and behoof of him the Sd. John Rainwater his heirs Exers Adms or assigns &c forever and he the said William Reves Junr for himself his heirs Exers Admrs or Assigns doth Covenant promise and agree that he will from time to time and at all times forever hereafter against all person or persons whatsoever the Right of the Sd. Land and premises warrant and Defend to the Sd. John Rainwater his heirs Exers Adms & assigns &c and that he the Said William Reves Junr his heirs &c Shall and will be ready at any time hereafter to make any further Right Conveyance or title that he the Said John Rainwater his heirs Exrs Adms or Assigns &c or his or their council learned in the Law shall lawfully require.
