Transcript

This Indenture made the twenty fourth day of May in the six year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George the second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c & in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & fifty seven. Between Thomas Reaves of Maherrin Parrish in the County of Brunswick of the one part of Hermon Reaves of the same Parrish & County Son of the said Thomas of the other part. Witnesseth that for & in consideration of the natural love & affection which the said Thomas hath for & beareth toward the said Hermon he the said Thomas Hath Given Granted Aliened & Confirmed & by these presents Doth give Grant alien & Confirm unto the said Hermon Reaves his heirs & assigns for ever fifty acres of land or there abouts lying & being in the parrish & County aforesaid on the South side of Maherrin River & Bounded as followeth, to wit. Begining at the Head of Bottom a line dividing that of Nathaniel Hixis land & down the said Bottom to a red oak & thence to a hickory thence to a pine to fork of the swamp & up a git to a corner tree of James Parham's which is a Black Oak thence along a line of marked trees to a Black Oak a corner tree of Benja Sykesis along Sykesis line to the High Land of the (?) to the Begining at the Head of the Bottom aforsd including the afsd fifty acres of land with all & singular the appertenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have & to hold the said fifty acres of land (be the same more or less) & premises to him the said Hermon Reaves his heirs & asigns for ever to the only proper use & behoof of the said Hermon Reaves his heirs & assigns for ever & to no & for no other use intent & purpose whatsoever.
