Transcript

This Indenture made the 19th day of October 1762 Between Micajah Reeve of Northampton in the County of Burlington and Wester Division of New Jersey yeoman of the one part and John Forker of Bridgeton in Northampton afsd innholder of the other part Witnesseth that the said Micajah Reeve for & in consideration of the sum of six pounds current lawful money of New Jersey afsd to him in hand paid by the said John Forker at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Rect whereof the said Micajah Reeve doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part and parcel thereof doth fully and clearly acquit release and discharge the said John Forker his heirs Exrs and Admirs for ever by these presents he the said Micajah Reeve hath granted bargained and sold aliened enfeoffed released conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully clearly and absolutely grant bargain & sell alien enfeoff release convey and confirm unto the sd John Forker and to his heirs and assigns forever one certain piece & parcel of land lying and being on the northside of Longwater Hallow in Northampton asd and is bounded as follows Beginning at a post corner to Henry Paxsons land and land of the estate of Samuel Cripps decd on the North West side of the said Longwater Hallow and is bounded from by land of said Cripps North twenty seven Degrees and thirty minutes west twelve chains & fifty links to a white oak corner to said Cripp's land and land of the estate of Thomas Shinn Esqr decd. Then by said Shinn's land south forty degrees west ten chains and twenty five links to a post in the new road in the said Hollow then up the sd Hallow south fifty six Degrees east one chain and forty six links to a pine then north eighty one Degrees East three chains to a pine then south sixty two degrees east two chains and seventy links to a pine then on a straight line to the place of Begining containing about six acres of land be the same more or less Together with all & every the woods ways waters and water courses and all other the royalties franchises powers profits commodities hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and also all the estate right title interest property claiim and demand whatsoever of the sd Micajah Reeve either in law or equity of in or uto the sd piece and parcel of land and granted and bargained premises or any part or parcel thereof and the reversions and remainders thereof and every part & parcel thereof To have and to hold all and singular the afsd piece and parcel of land and granted and bargained premises & every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the sd John FOrker his heirs and assigns To the only proper use & behoof of the sd John Forker his heirs and assigns forever And the said Micajah Reeve for himself his heirs Exrs & Admirs doth covenant promise and agree to and with the sd John Forker his heirs & assigns by these presents that he the sd Micajah Reeve now at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof hath in himself good right full power and lawful authority to grant bargain & sell all the abovesd piece and parcel of land and premises with the appurtenances according to the teor purport true intent and meaning of these presents and unto the sd John Forker his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend the same In Witness whereof the sd Micajah Reeves hath hereunto set his hand and sea the day and year first above written.

Be it Remembered that on the 18th day of February 1774 personally appeared Mr Joseph Reed Esqr one of the Masters of the Court of Chancery for the province of New Jersey James MCulley one of the witnesses to the execution of the within Indenture to me well known & worthy of Credit who being duly sworn on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God deposeth and saith that he knew Micajah Reeve the Grantor named therein and saw him seal and deliver the sd Indenture as his Act and Deed for the uses therein mentioned and that he the sd Deponent together with John Burr junr the other witness signed their names as witnesses to the sd Deed
