Transcription

This Indenture made the 15th day of April, 1764, Between John Bradley of Johnston County in the Province of No. Carolina Planter of the one part and George Reeves of the said county & province of the other part. Witnesseth that he the said John Bradley for divers good causes & considerations him thereunto moving but more especially for the sum of 133 pounds of Proc. money to him the said John Bradley by him the said George Reeves in hand already paid before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he the said John Bradley doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully satisfied, contented and paid, and of every part and parcel thereof to him the said George Reeves his heirs, Extors, admors or assigns doth by these Presents acquit, exonerate, discharge and forever quit claim, and hath granted, bargained, sold aliened, assigned, enfeoffed made over and confirmed and by these presents doth give etc. unto him the said George Reeves his heirs & assigns forever every part of a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county and Province aforesaid and on the upper side of Surittes (sic?) Beginning at the mouth of the said creek running up the River to Williams corner a hickory thence No to a pine thence E. to the said creek a white oak, thence down the creek including one half the stream of the said creek and also one moiety or half of a Grist Mill on the said stream, and so along the said run as before to the first station containing 200 acres of land, be the same more or less to have hold & peaceably enjoy all and singular, every part and parcel of the aforesaid 200 acres of land & premises as also one half of the said Grist Mill to him the said George Reeves his heirs and assigns together with all houses, orchards, gardins, pastures, etc etc and all and every the improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging as in anywise appertaining to the said tract or parcel of land, saving the said Proprietors interest of etc the same already reserved from the right title or claims of him the said John Bradley his heirs Exetors, admins etc. or any other person or persons claiming the same or any part or parcel thereof to the only proper use & behoof of him the said George Reeves his heirs or assigns forever and the said John Bradley doth for himself his heirs etc covenant, grant, promise and agree to and with the said George Reeves that he the said John Bradley at the time of sealing and delivery of these presents, hath in himself full power rightful and lawful authority to make this Deed and every part thereof and that free and clear forever all charges and all forever deeds, mortgages, damages or jointures, or any other encumbrances whatsoever so and to make unto the said George Reeves his heirs or assigns a true perfect & indefeasible estate in fee simple forever, and the said Jno. Bradley doth for himself his heirs, Exetors. etc. covenant & agree to and with the said (Reeves_George_RR322ID1922|George Reeves)) his heirs etc. to warrant forever defend the peaceable possession of the aforesaid land and premises and also half the said mill and every part or parcel thereof to the said Geo. Reeves his heirs and assigns, against him the said Jno. Bradley his heirs and assigns forever - to any other persons lawfully claiming the same or any part or parcel thereof and lastly he the said John Bradley doth covenant and agree to and with the said Geo. Reeves, that he the said John Bradley his heirs, Exors, admors, shall at any time hereafter and at the request and proper cost and charge in law of the said Geo. Reeves his heirs etc. make perfect and execute any other Deed or Deeds, instrument or instruments of writing as by the said Geo. Reeves his heirs etc. or by his or their council Learned in the Law shall or may be required for the more perfect or better occurring the aforesaid land & premises to the said George Reeves his heirs or assigns forever. In witness whereof he the said John Bradley hath put his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written -
