This Indenture made this 1st day of May, 1764. Between George Keith of the county of Granville & province of No Carolina planter of the one part & George Reeves of the county of Johnston & province aforesaid Planter, of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Geo. Keith for divers good causes & considerations in him thereunto moving but more especially for the consideration of the sum of 33 pounds sterling money of England to me in hand paid by the aforesaid Geo. Reeves & before the sealing and Delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof he the said George Keith Doth hereby acknowledge & himself fully satisfied, contented & paid & of every part & parcel doth by these presents exonerate, acquit & discharge the said George Reeves his heirs, Exors or adminors. freely by these presents & for divers good causes & considerations in me thereunto moving, have bargained & sold & Do by these presents fully freely & absolutely give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, & confirm unto him the said Geo. Reeves his heirs Exetos, admors. & assigns forever all & every part of a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in Johnston County aforesaid and on the Newlight Creek & runs as follows to wit, Beginning at a red oak standing on the W. side of the aforesaid Newlight creek running north along a line of marked trees to a poplar in a little branch thence E. crossing the said creek to a white oak, thence So. along a line of marked trees to a pine thence a direct line to the first Station in all to include 150 acres be the same more or less, it being part of a tract of land granted to Aquilla Suggs by Earl Granville and bearing date in the year of our Lord 1757. To have and to hold all & singular & peaceably to enjoy all & every part & parcel of the aforesaid 150 acres of land & premises to the same belonging such as houses, out-houses, orchards, woods, under woods, water & water courses together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to them the said Geo. Reeves , his heirs or assigns, to him & their own proper use benefit & behoof forever & I the said George Keith forever my heirs, Exors, & admors do hereby promise & agree to & with the said George Reeves his heirs & assigns in a waiver following that is to say that at the time of unsealing & delivery of presents, that I the said George Reeves have in myself good right & lawful authority to sell & dispose of the above said bargained premises as above said & stands lawfully seized in a sociable estate of the same in fee simple & that the said George Reeves or his heirs or assigns may from time to time & at all times by virtue of these presents, lawfully & peaceably & quietly hold use occupy possess & enjoy the said discussed premises free & clear & freely & clearly Do exonerate, acquit & discharge & from all manner of incumbrances of all other gifts, grants, bargains, sales, mortgages, & troubles whatsoever & furthermore - I the said Keith do warrant the same from the claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever - In Witness I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal the day & year first above written.Signed, Sealed & Delivered in presence of X George Keith (Seal)
