Transcript

This Indenture made this ninth Day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven Between Jonathan Pattison jr of Lunenburg County of the one part and Isaac Reaves of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the sd Jonathan Pattison jr for and in consideration of the sum of Thirty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand pd by the said Reaves the Rec? he doth hereby acknowledge hath given Granted Bargained Sold and Delivered and by these presents do give grant Bargain sell make over ad confirm unto the sd Isaac Reaves his heirs exrs admrs & assigns one certain tract or parsel of land lying & being on the aforesaid County of Lunenburgh on the North Maherin River and Bounded as followeth vizt Begining at a poplar on the sd River thence a straight line to John Hawkins Fence along his line marks to the Creek thence down the Creek to a poplar thence from the sd poplar a straight to the River and down the said River to the Begining containing two hundred acres more or less To have and to hold the above sold land and premises with all houses orchards gardens pastures woods and underwoods trees ways waters watter courses with all & every of their appurtenances unto him the said Isaac Reeves his heirs and assigns forever free from the claim or claims of any other person or persons whatever against him the sd Jonathan Pattison his heirs exrs adms or assigns and the said Jonathan Pattison jr doth for himself his heirs exrs & adms further covenant and agree to and with the sd Isaac Reeves that the above sold land and premises is free from all former sales gifts grants or any other bargain of sale whatever and that he hath a good and lawfull power to sell and convey the same in manner aforesd and that he the sd Jonathan Pattison jr for himself his heirs executors admrs or assigns will warrant and forever defend the title et unto him the sd Isaac Reaves his heirs executors adms or assigns In witness whereof he the sd Jonathan Pattison Jr hath hereto sell my hand & seal this Day and year above written
