Transcript

This Indenture made the 27 Day of July in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and seventy Between Fredrick Rives of Pittsylvania County in Virginia of the one part and William Dyson of Brunswick County of the other part Witnesseth that the said Fredrick Rives for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money of Virginia when to him in hand paid by the said William Dyson at and before the insealing and Delivering of the presents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and every part thereof doth clearly aquit and discharge the said William Dyson his heirs Exr and Administrators and every of them by these presents hath given Granted aliened Bargained sold Released and confirmed and by these presents doth give Grant Alien bargain sell Release and confirm unto the said William Dyson and his Heirs and assigns forever one tract or parcel of land containing one thousand acres more or less situate lying and being on the south side of Pigg River in Pittsylvania County of Virginia and Bounded as followeth to wit. Begining at a ash on the divideing order line thence south to a corner white oak thence west to a corner white oak on William Stegalls line thence along his line to his corner on a branch thence up the said Branch to a white oake thence to the Beginning with all and Singular the appurtenances there unto belonging unto him the said William Dyson and his heirs to the only proper use and behoof of him the said William Dyson his heirs and assigns forever and the said Fredrick Rives for himself his heirs executors & Administrators doth covenant and Grant to ad with the said Dyson that it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said William Dyson his heirs executors and Admrs from time to time and at all times forever hereafter peaceably and quietl to have hold occupy possess and enjoy the said land and premises and the Rite and Title of him the said Frederick Rives and his heirs without any lawfull lett sute trouble molestation & interuption of him the siad Fredrick Rives his heirs executors administrators or assigns or any of them or any other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim in by from or under them or any of them & the said Fredrick Rives for himself and his heirs the said Land and premises as was before included and exprest unto him the said William Dyson and his heirs against him the said Fredrick Rives and his heirs and all claiming or to claim in by from or under them or any of them shall and will and not defend these presents In witness whereof the said Frederick Rives hath hereunto put his hand and affixt his seal the day and date above written.
