Transcript

This Indenture made the Twenty seventh day of July in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and seventy Between Fredrick Rives of Pittsylvania County of Virginia of the one part and Ralph Grisham of Brunswick County of Virginia of the other part Witnesseth that the said Fredrick Rives for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds to him in hand paid by the said Ralph Grisham at and before the Insealing and Deliverying of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge thereof and every part thereof doth clearly acquit and Discharge the said Ralph Grisham his heirs executors and Administrators and every of them by these presents hath Given granted Aliened bargained sold Released and confirmed and by these presents doth Give grant alien bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Ralph Grisham his heirs and assigns forever one tract or parcell of land containing one thousand six hundred acres more or less situate lying and Bounded being on the North side of Pigg River on Pittsylvania County and bounded as followeth To Wit Beginning on the south side of Jacks Mountain on the order line at a red oak Running South to a corner white oak thence new lines to corner white oak thence new lines to corner white oak thence New lines to a corner white oak thence New line to corner white oak on the dividing order line thence north to a corner white oak on the back line thence west up the same line to the Begining with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said Ralph Grisham and his heirs to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Ralph Grisham his heirs and assigns forever and the said Frederick Rives for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant and Grant to and with the said Ralph Grisham that it shall and maybe awfull to and for the said Ralph Grisham his heirs executors and administrators from time to time and at all times forever hereafter peaceably and quietly to have hold occupy possess and enjoy the said land and premises and the right and title of him the said Fredrick Rives and his Heirs without any lawfull lett sute trouble molestation and interuption of him the said Fredrick Rives his heirs executors administrators or assigns or any of them or any other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim in by from or under them or any f them and the said Fredrick Rives for himself and his Heirs the said land and premises before included and expresd unto him the said Ralph Grisham and his heirs against him the said Fredrick Rives and his Heirs and all claiming or to claim in by from or under them or any of them shall and will forever not to defend by these presents.
In witness whereof the said Frederick Rives hath hereunto put his hand and affixt his seal the day and date above mentioned.
