Transcript

This Indenture made this ninth Day of December in the year of our Lord Christ One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy nine - Between Natheniel Rieves of Brunswich County of the one part and Joshua Hill of Sussex of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Nathaniel Pieves for and in consideration of Two negroes Boys Roger and Bob this day delivered to him by the said Joshua Hill - Hath Granted Bargained Sold aliened and confirmed and by these Presents Doth Grant Bargain Sell Alien and Confirm unto the said Joshua Hill and his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Sussex containing one hundred and forty three acres Beginning at a pawpaw Gumm standing on the north side of Monkneck Creek a corner between the said Rieves and John Parham thence by his line No 70 E 193 Poles to a red oak near the Road thence running by the said Road No 390 E 45 Poles No 57 E 27 Poles to a small Branch crossing the road thence up the said Branch along a line between the said Reives and John Parham No 44 E 38 Poles S 30 W 16 Poles No 68 W 25 Poles to a sweat gum a corner of John Parhams thence by his line S 65 W 61 poles S 49 W 136 Poles to a large Pine by the Bed reed Branch thence up the said Branch to a maple standing therein thence up the various courses of the said Branch to small Holley tree in the said Branch and in the County line thence by the County S 45 W 92 Poles to a red oak in the said County line and near Monks Neck Creek thence down the various courses of the said Creek to the Beginning with all its appurtenances and also the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders thereof and all the estate Right title Interest Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Nathaniel Rieves of in and to the said Tract piece or parcel of land and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the said One hundred and forty three acres with all its appurtenances unto the said Joshua Hill his heirs and assigns forever and the said Nathaniel Reives for himself and his heirs the said tract piece or parcel of land with its appurtenances against him and his heirs and against all and every person and persons to the said Joshua Hill his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In witness whereof the said Nathaniel Reives hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day & year above written
