Deed for 100 acres land
This Indenture made this twenty fourth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred & eighty five Between Hardy Reeves of the County of Duplin & State of North Carolina of the one part & Thomas Bradley of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Hardy Reeves for and in consideration of the Sum of forty pounds to him in hand paid before the ensealing & delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath given granted bargained & sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell convey & confirm unto the said Thomas Bradley his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Duplin on the north side of Goshen Swamp and on the head of Bear Marsh near Hurst old line, Begining (sic) at a Black Gum in the Branch near Hurst line, and runing (sic) along a line of marked trees to the third corner of the patent near the stake, thence So. 22 Et. 170 pole to a White Oak on the South prong of Hurst branch, thence down the said Branch by & with, the run to the first station, containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less, being part of a tract granted to Christopher Birk patent bearing date the 22d. day of February 1760 & conveyed through several hands unto the said Hardy Reeves & now conveyed by him to the said Thomas Bradley as by the deed doth appear, To have and to hold the said bargained premises with all houses & out houses ways waters & water courses profits commodities hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever to the said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining, & the said Thomas Bradley his heirs & assigns forever shall and may from time to time & at all times hereafter by free virtue of these presents lawfully peacebly (sic) & quietly have hold occupie (sic) & enjoy the said bargained premises with all the appurtenances unto the same belonging or any ways appertaining, freely & clearly acquir & discharge from all former gifts grants bargains sales leases wills mortgages or entails or any other incumbrance whatsoever the taxes that may hereafter become due only excepted, & I the said Hardy Reeves for myself my heirs executors administrators and assigns forever shall warrant and forever defend the above bargained premises unto the said Thomas Bradley his heirs and assigns and every of them forever from the lawfull (sic) claim or claims of all manner of persons whatsoever, In witness whereof I the said Hardy Reeves have hereunto set my hand and seal this day & date above written.
