State of Georgia
This indenture made the twenty seventh day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five and in the tenth year of the Independence of the United States of America Between Spencer Reeve of the county of and State aforesaid of the one part and William Greaves now or late of Savannah in the said State of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of ten shillings sterling to him in hand well and truly paid by the said William Greaves at and before the sealing and delivery hear of the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said William Greaves his executors administrators and assigns a certain plantation or tract of land lying and being in Washington County containing two hundred and eighty seven and half acres be the same more or less which was granted by his Honor Samuel Elbert Esquire Governor of the said State bearing date the fifth day of March one thousand seven hundred an eighty five and butting and bounding Northeastwardly by John Finns land Southeastwardly by John Youngs land Southwestwardly by vacant land and Northwestwardly by Nathaniel Wades land. Together with all and singular the gardens orchards fences ways wells water courses easements profits commidities advantages emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances whatosever to the said Two hundred and eighty seven and a half acres of land be the same more or less belonging or in any wise appertaing and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders whereof and every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the said tract of Two hundred and eighty seven and half acres of land and all singular other the premises hearin before mentioned and intended to be hearby bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said William Greaves Executors administrators and assigns from the day next before the day of the date of these presents for and during the full time and unto the full end and term of one whole year from thence next ensuing and fully to be compleated and yielding and paying therefor unto the said Spencer Reeve executors administrators the rent of one peper corn on the last day of the said Term if the same shall be lawfully demanded to the intent and purpose that the said William Graves by virtue hearof and by force of the Statues for transferring of uses into possession may be in the actual possession of the premises herein before mentioned and intended to be hearby bargained and sold and every part and parcel thereof with their and every of their appurtenances and may be hereby enabled to accept and take a grant and release of the reversion and inheritance of the same to him and his heirs forever in Witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hear unto interchangeable set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
