1791 Deed - Aeson Jay to Jordan Reeves

This Indenture made this eighth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one and in the fifteenth year of American Independence Made between Aeson Jay of Pendleton County and State of South Carolina of the one part and Jordan Reeves of the County and State aforesaid of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Aeson Jay for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds currency to him in hand paid by the said Jordan Reeves the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged hath Bargained, sold, released, conveyed and by these presents doth bargain, sell, (illegible), release, convey and assign unto the said Jordan Reeves, his heirs and assigns Etc one hundred and twenty five acres of land it being a part of a tract of (illegible) hundred and fifty four acres originally granted to the Said Jay bearing date one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight in the twelfth year of the independence of the United States of America together with the whole right to all & singular the buildings, barns, stables, woods, water rights, members and appurtenances as whatsoever may be thereunto belonging or in any (illegible) unto the said Jordan Reeves, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns to have and to hold he said plantation of one hundred and twenty five acres land it being a part of a tract of land granted to Aeson Jay of two hundred and fifty four acres it lying on the waters of Big Generostee waters of Savannah River and hath such shape form and marks, buttings and boundings by the plat of the original grant annexed may more fully appear with every of the herediments and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the (illegible) proper use and behalf of the said Jordan Reeves his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time hereafter have and at all times hold use occupy possess & enjoy the said plantation tract of one hundred twenty five acres being a part of two hundred and fifty four acres without any manner of trouble hinderance molestation or denial of him the said Aeson Jay his heirs executors administrators or assigns or of any other person or persons whatsoever and lastly the said Aeson Jay for himself his heirs and assigns to warrant and defend the above mentioned tract of one hundred & twenty five aces of land it bing that plantation on whch the said Jordan Reeves now lives and is in possession him fee simple to and shall will and truly warrant and forever defend In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and date above written (Be it known before signing that the Word (acres) are interlined)
