Transcription

This Indenture made this eleventh Day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one between Jonathan Reeves of the County of Guilford & state of North Carolina of the one part and James Campbell of the County and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Jonathan Reeves for & in Consideration of the sum of Thirty five pounds lawful money of the state aforesaid to him in hand paid by the Sd. James Campbell at & before the sealing & Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he does hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part thereof he the said Jonathan Reeves does exonerate acquit & discharge the said James Campbell his heirs Executors and administrators he the said Jonathan Reeves hath granted bargaind sold aliened enfeoffed & Confirmed and by these presents does grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and Confirm unto the said James Campbell his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcel of Land situate Lying and being in the said County of Guilford on both sides Mair’s fork of Haw River bounded as follows, beginning at a post oak Cambells Corner, running thence west forty eight poles to a black oak sapling, thence south through the survey Crossing one branch of Mair’s fork one hundred and seventy poles to a Turkey oak sapling on the bank of said Creek thence down the meanders thereof east Twenty poles thence south sixteen poles to a poplar in Jesse Reeves’ line thence south forty five Degrees east thirty six poles to a black oak sapling in Campbells line thence North along the said Campbells line Crossing the creek again to the first station Containing in the whole fifty five Acres of Land being one half of a tract of land Containing one hundred & ten acres granted by Fortune Reeves to the said Jonathan Reeves and Malachi Reeves by Deed bearing date the thirtieth day of May one thousand seven hundred & Eighty Eight and Registered in the Registers office in Book E, page 66. Recourse thereto being had will more fully appear together with all ways woods waters profits Commodities & appurtenances belonging to the above fifty five acres of Land and the Reversion & Reversions Remainder and Remainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the right title interest Claim property use or Demand whatsoever of him the said Jonathan Reeves either in Law or equity of in & to the said Fifty five Acres of Land to have and to hold the said premises & all & singular the premises hereby granted or intended to be granted with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said James Campbell his heirs executors administrators & assigns against him the said Jonathan Reeves or his heirs and the said Jonathan Reeves does hereby grant for himself and his heirs that he the said Jonathan Reeves & his heirs and every of them shall and will warrant and for ever Defend the said land and premises & every part & article thereof unto the said James Campbell his heirs & assigns forever against him the said Jonathan Reeves & his heirs and every of them and against all and Every other person or persons whomsoever and further the said Jonathan Reeves does hereby Covenant agree to & with the said James Campbell his heirs and assigns that he the said Jonathan Reeves and his heirs shall and will at any time hereafter at the request & proper Cost & charges in the law of the said James Campbell his heirs & assigns for the further and better Conveying & assuring the said fifty five acres of Land unto the said James Campbell his heirs and assigns forever make & execute any other such Conveyances or assurances as by the said James Campbell his heirs or assigns or their Counsel learned in the Law shall be reasonably advised Devised or required so as such further Conveyance Contains no further Covenant or warrantee than is in these presents Provided nevertheless that that John Campbell & Mary his wife shall have full and free use & Possession of the above fifty five acres of Land during each of their Lives in witness whereof the said Jonathan Reeves hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day and year first above written –
