This Indenture made this fourteenth day of September, one thousand seven hundred and ninety six between William Cabell of the County of Amherst of the one part and Robert Rives &co of the other part, Witnesseth, the said William Cabell for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds to him in hand paid by the said Robert Rives & Co the Receipt whereof the said William Cabell doth hereby acknowledge, hath granted, bargained and sold, aliened and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, and sell, alien, and confirm unto the said Robert Rives &co and their heirs two certain half? lotts of land, lying, and being in the town of New Markell, in the County of Amherst, adjacent to Tye River warehouse, and designated in the plan of sold Town by No 6 and 10 and extending each on the main street in ? thirty yards and from the main street in length eighty yards and two feet and now in the occupation, and possession, of the said Robert Rives &co with all advantages whatsoever to the said Lotts of Land belonging or appertaining and also all the Estate, right Title, Interest, claim and demand whatsoever of Him the said William Cabell af, in and to the same. To have and to Hold the said two half acre lotts of land with their appurtenances unto the said Robert Rives & Co their heirs and assigns forever, and the said William Cabell, His heirs, the two half acre lotts of land aforesaid with their appurtenances, to the said Robert Rives & Co their Heirs and assigns, against Him the said William Cabell, His Heirs and all other persons will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
