Transcript

This Indenture made the twentyfirst day of Decr in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and one between Benjamin Owens of Davidson County and State of Tennessee of the one part and Peter Reaves of the County aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Benjamin for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff confirm unto the said Peter Reaves his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land containing fifty acres situate in Davidson County on the West fork of Mill Creek be the same more or less Beginning at a sugartree and White walnut on Benjamin Adams South Boundary and runs East with his line One hundred and thirty Eight poles on Beechon Yarthaws West boundary, thence South with said line fifty eight poles to Henry Hodges north East corner a sugartree, thence West with Hydes Line one hundred and thirty eight poles to a Blad? and Beech thence North to the Beginning, With all and singular the appertenances whatsoever the said Tract of land belonging or appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions Rents and Issues thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand of himself and Benjamin his heirs of in and to the same and every part and parcel thereof either in law or Equity, To have and to hold the said fifty acres of Land with the appurtenances unto the said Peter Reaves his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claim and demand of all persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Benjamin Owens hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written.

The execution of which deed of conveyance as above recited was in court held for the County of Davidson Jany Session 1802 acknowledged by the said Owens to be his act and deed for the uses & purposes therein contained.
