This Indenture made this eighth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two between Lewis Craig of Mason County & State of Kentucky of the one part & Elijah Reaves of Fleming county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Lewis Craig for & in consideration of the sum of Three hundred pound current money of the aforesaid state to him in hand paid by the said Elijah Reeves the receipt whereof the said Lewis Craig doth hereby confess & acknowledge have bargained and sold and do by by (sic) these presents grant bargain sell alien enfeoff & confirm unto the said Elijah Reeves & to his heirs & assigns for ever one certain tract or parcell of Land containing by estimation Fourteen hundred acres be the same more or less situate lying & being in the aforesaid County of Fleming on both sides of Foxes Creek being a part of Lott No. 11 one of the Lotts of Thirty Thousand Acres patented in the name of Littleberry Mosby heir at Law to John Mosby decd & bounded as followeth on the West by the Lands of Rebeckah Royse William Marquit & David Beadle on the South by the line between No. 11 & No. 12 on the East by the lines of ~ No. 11 & on the North by the line between No. 10 & No. 11 the said One thousand four hundred acres being the balance of said Lott after taking out the Lands sold by said Craig to Job Walton & lying East of said Walters purchase. To have and to holde the aforesaid one thousand fourhundred acres with all the appurtenances to the said Elijah Reeves & his heirs for ever & the said Lewis Craig for him self his heirs Executors & administrators doth covenent and agree with him the said Elijah Reeves and his heirs that him the said Lewis Craig & his heirs will & shall warrant & forever defend the said beforementioned One thousand four hundred Acres of Land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining to the said Elijah Reeves & his heirs forever from the claim of him the said Lewis Craig & his heirs & all other person and persons whatsoever claiming or pretending to claim any right title or Interest thereto in testimony whereof the said Lewis Craig hath to this indenture set his hand & affixed his seal the day and date first above written
