John Burton Deed to Jesse Reves 150 acresThis Indenture made this (blank) day of August A.D. one Thousand Eight hundred and two, between John Burton and Jesse Reves both of Ashe County and State of North Carolina Witnesseth, that he the said John Burton for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars, to him in hand paid by the said Jesse Reves the receipt whereof the said John Burton doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith fully Satisfied and paid, hath granted, bargained, Sold and conveyed unto the said Jesse Reves and by these presents doth absolutely grant, Sell, convey & confirm unto him a tract of land containing one hundred and fifty acres lying and being in Ashe County aforesaid on the Waters of Rock Creek Beginning at a white oak, running South one hundred and Sixty Poles to a Stake, then West one hundred and fifty Poles to a white oak thence North one hundred and Sixty Poles to a Stake, then to the first Station, Together with every title, priviledge & emolument to the said lands or in any wise belonging or appertaining, and the said John Burton doth hereby bind himself his heirs executors & Administrators well and truly to warrant and forever to defend the aforesaid premises with all the Appertainances (sic) to him the said Jesse Reves, his heirs and assigns forever, free and clear of all claims & incumberances (sic) whatsoever, In witness whereof the said John Burton hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal, day and date above written
