Know all men by these presents that I Frederick Rives of Franklin County and State of Virginia for divers and many good causes me thereunto moving have ordained, constituted & appointed and by these Presents do constitute, ordain, and appoint my trusty and beloved Son George Rives of the aforesaid County and State my true, lawful, and real attorney for me and in my name, to transact all my business of every kind in the State of George either such as concerns me individually, or such as concerns me as heir at law executor, or administrator to any one else, and for me and in my name to receive money, and grant and allow acquittances, to sell land, or rent, or lease to make conveyances with general, or special warranty, as he may think fit, to institute and prosecute suits, petitions, and other legal process, to employ connect and to ordain other attorneys undo him - And touching the premises do hereby covenant for myself and my heirs that I will ratify and abide by what my said attorney in fact, or those ordained under his hand & seal, shall do, or cause to be done. At a Court held for Franklin County at the Courthouse the 7th day of February 1803.
This Letter of Attorney from Frederick Rives to George Rives, was acknowledged by the said Frederick Rives, and ordered to be recorded.
