The people of the State of New York by the grace of God Free and Independent. To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greeting:Know ye that at Goshen in the County of Orange on the eighteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three before James Everett Esq Surrogate of our said County, the last Will and Testament of James Reeve deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death goods chattels or credits within this State by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong to us; the administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his will is granted unto Mary Reeve executrix in the said will named she being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required. In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of Office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affoxed. Witness James Everett Esquire Surrogate of the said County at Goshen the twenty second day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three and of our Independence the twenty eighth
Know all men by these presents that I James Reeve of the Town of Minisink County of Orange and State of New York being weak in body but of sound memory and understanding do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say first I will that all my just debts be paid by my executors herein after mentioned out of such moveable property as they think proper then I give to my son James one Dollar to my daughter one dollar and to my son Daniel — Mary one cow to my daughter Heppsibu eight one cow to my son David my moulding planes and turning and chain tools and twenty Dollars to be paid in March next ensuing to my son Joshua one hundred and twenty one Dollars and fifty cents to be paid in June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five, to my daughter Lydia and Anna one Dollar each to be paid in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five, to my daughter Kituah and Deborah one Dollar each to be paid in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five to my son Isaac one Dollar to be paid in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four and the horse which he now calls his, to my daughter Sarah one Dollar to be paid in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six to my daughter Mary Amutal and Jerusha one Dollar to each to be paid in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven, to my son Elijah one Dollar to be paid on the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight, and to my daughter Dolly and Julia one Dollar each to be paid in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine and to my beloved wife Mary I give all the remainder of my moveable property and the controul of my farm as long as she lives and she is to give to my children such assistance from time to time as she thinks proper after my son Elijah comes of age the land of which I am possessed is to be divided between him and Isaac as follows viz to begin at a certain stone in the fence of Nathan Hulse's land to run from thence to a small Island in the brook which runs through my land thence allong said brook till it strikes Daniel Bowins land making the middle of said brook for the line Elijah to take the south and Isaac the west part and to be theirs their heirs ad assigns forever and, I further will that my daughters Sarah, Mary, Amutal, Jerusha Dolly and Julia shall have a home and living with their mother as long as they shall remain unmarried and shall have such schooling as she thinks proper or is necessary to read and write and after Isaac and Elijah comes in possession of the place by the latter coming of age their mother is still to command the farm and house and if after a decent living for my wife and daughters above mentioned and payments of all my debts there should be any thing left from the proceeds of the farm then Isaac and Elijah are to divide it equally between them while they continue to live all together and from the tender kindness of their mother in bringing them up I trust in the Lord they all will endeavour to under her situation as agreeable as possible and out of respect to the memory of the departed shades o their father I hope all will be peace and harmony - as my sin in law Steward Brown is owing me about thirty Dollars be it more or less it is to be given him and considered as part of his portion and should Isaac or Elijah not live to come in possession of their portion then my daughters Lydia Anna Kiturah, Deborah, Sarah Mary Amutal Jerusha Dolly and Julia shall each have an equal proportion of the deceased brothers part and the surviving brother a double portion my son Elijah is to pay such a portion to one of my daughters as their mother shall think proper to order lastly I constitute my beloved wife Mary Executrix and Eli Cowin 2d Executor of this my last will and Testament whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three - the word (my) in the thirteenth line and the word (a) in thirty fifth live and the word (and) in forty first line interlined before signing sealing and delivery Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Jonathan Ogden Abigail Little Samuel W Corwin Eli Corwin 2d

Be it remembered that on the eighteenth day of November on the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and three personally appeared before me James Everett Surrogate of the said County of Orange Jonathan Ogden and being duly sworn upon his oath saith that he did see James Reeve sign and seal the written instrument then shewn unto him of which the proceeding is a true copy purporting to be the last Will and testament of the said James Reeve deceased bearing date the thirty first day of October in the year one thousand eight hundred and three and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last will and Testament and that at the time thereof he the said James Reeve was of a sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponet and that he together with Abigail Little and Samuel W Cowin subscribed their names as witnesses thereto in the presence of the Testator and in the presence of each other
The preceeding is a true copy of the original will of James Reeve deceased of the Certificate of the proof thereof and the letters testamentary thereon
