Research Notes

It is unclear in the original document whether the grantee was George Reves, Sr. or George Reeves, Jr. The deed describes this George Reves as "of Ashe County" and at that time, neither George Sr. nor George Jr. were residents of Ashe County, North Carolina. Both are listed on the Grayson County, Virginia personal property tax lists of 1805.
