At the request of John C. Reeves the following Deed of Gift was recorded this 9th day of December Anno Domini 1805. To all people to whom these presence shall come I John Clark Reeves do send greetings. Know ye that I the said John C. Reeves of Charles County and State of Maryland for and in consideration of the love good will and affection which I have and do bear towards my Brother in law William Smallwood Roby and my Sister Ann Tyer Roby wife of the said William Roby of the same County and State aforesaid. Have given and granted and do by these presence freely give & grant unto the said William Smallwood Roby & Ann Tyer Roby my Brother in Law & sister the following property to wit. One Negro Woman named Flora about thirty five years old & all her future increase, one Brood Mare and all her future increase one side saddle one bridle two feather Beds & furniture to have & to hold the property above mentioned to them the said William S. Roby & Ann Tyer Roby during their natural life and after their decease I give the same whatever may be remaining to my niece Sarah Reeves her heirs & assigns forever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this twenty third day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & five signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Ig Middleton.

On the back of the aforegoing Deed of Gift is thus written to wit.
Charles County Set Be it remembered that on the twenty third day of November eighteen hundred & five personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid John C. Reeves and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and Deed and the property within mentioned to be the right title and estate of the within named William S. Roby & Ann Tyer Roby during their natural lives and after their decease to be the right title and interest of the within names Sarah Reeves to her and her heirs executors administrators and assigns forever according to the true purport intent and meaning thereof and according to an Act of Assembly in such case made & provided.
