Transcript

I James Reves of the town of Southold being weak in body but of a sound disposing memory through divine Goodness do make and ordain this my will and testament in manner and form as follows
Inprimus I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Parnel all my household furniture and provisions in the house likewise the choice of a cow and ten sheep all which I freely give to her and her heirs forever.
Item I give unto my son Jesse my house buildings and land from the north land running northward untill it joins Decn Richard Hallocks land which I freely give to him his heirs and assigns forever excepting? a ? in my house with him for all my children as long as they remain in a single state which I freely give them
2d Item I likewise give to my son Jesse my south Woods containing about twenty acres and a way to and from sd woods which I freely Give to him his heirs and assigns forever I likewise Give to my son Jesse all my out Door movables farming tackling &c which I Give to him his heirs and assigns forever my will is that my hogs and ? to be killed for the ensuing year to be shared equally or be consumed in the family.
Item I Give unto my Eight children namely Livinia, Jesse, James, Parnel, Therziah, Edmund, Hannah and Anna all my lands not above disposed of equally between them in Quantity and Quality all which I freely give to them equally and to heirs and assigns forever.
Lastly I do constitute ordain and appoint my wife Parnel James Hallock and my son Jesse sole executors to this my last will and testament to execute the same according to the true content and meaning herein.

Suffolk County } Be it remembered that on the seventh day of October in the year one thousand eight hundred and seven personally appeared before Nicoll Floyd Surrogate of the said County Richard Halliock junr of the town of Southold in the County aforesaid and being duly sworn on his oath declared that he saw James Reeve sign and seal an instrument in writing purporting to be the will of the said James Reeve bearing date the twenty ninth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven the preceeding whereof is a true copy and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament that at the time thereof he the said James Reeve was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and that his name subscribed as a witness to the said will is of his own proper handwriting and that he saw David Conkling and Richard Halliock subscribe their names as witnesses thereto at the same time with him in presence of the testator.
