William Reves deed to Geo. Reves 100 acres
This Indenture made this 19th day of January Anno domini one thousand eight hundred and eight, between William Reves of Ashe County and State of North Carolina, and Geo. Reves Jnr. of Grayson County & State of Virginia Witnesseth, that he the sd. William for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds to him in hand paid by the sd. George the receipt whereof the sd. William doth hereby acknowledge, and himself therewith fully Satisfied and paid, hath granted, bargained, sold, conveyed, & confirmed & by these presents hath absolutely granted, bargained, Sold, conveyed & confirmed unto the sd. George his heirs and assigns forever a tract of land Supposed to be one hundred acres, be the Same more or less, lying and being in the County of Ashe on the South Side of New River Beginning on the bank of Sd. River at a Hickory running thence South to Seniors¹ Mill, then up to the first Branch, then up the branch to the head, thence across the Ridge by where Julius Bunches cabin stoof, then down by the Spring to the branch and up the branch to the head, then across the ridge to a Spring formerly called Micajah Bunches Spring, then down the branch to the Virginia line, or to the River, then to the beginning Together with every right, title, priviledge, and emolument to the sd. Land belonging, or in any wise appertaining, and he the sd. William doth hereby bind himself his heirs, and well and truly to warrant & ever defend the aforesaid premises with all their Appurtenances, to him the sd. George his heirs and assigns forever, free and clear of all incumberances wherever, In witness whereof he the sd. William hath hereunto set his hand and seal day and date above written,

Research Notes

¹ This word appears to be "seniors" in the original document but later deeds, including the 1838 petition dividing the lands of George Reeves, Jr. refer to the mill at this location as Tobin's Mill.
