Transcript

In the name of God Amen I Josiah Reeves of the Town of Gloucester in the County of Gloucester and State of New Jersey Inn Keeper being weak state of boddy by health but of sound disposing mind and memory do make ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament as follows viz. First I order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expences be paid out of my personal estate by my executrix herein after named. Secondly I give devise and bequeath all the residue of my estate both real and personal unto my Beloved wife Hester and to my two sons Biddle and Edward Reeves equally to be divided between them share and share alike my wife having the use and benefit of all the interest arising from my said sons shares untill they shall arive to the age of twenty one years when the principal shall then be paid them by my executrix and I do hereby authorise impower and direct my exeutrix to sell at publick sale when my said sons shall arive to the age of twenty one years or any time before after my decease all my real estate and to make and execute good and sufficient deed or deeds for the same and I do nominate and appoint my beloved wife Hester Reeves my executrix to this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto affixed my seal and subscribed my name this sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight

Isaac Browning one of the within witnesses to the within will being duly affirmed according to law saith that he saw Josiah Reeves the testator therein named sign and seal the same and heard him publish and pronounce the within writing to be his last will and testament and that at the doing thereof the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind and memory as far as he knows and verily believes and that John Brick and Samuel Brick the other subscribing witnesses were present at the same time and signed their names together with this affirmant in the presence of the testator
