Transcript

This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine between Elijah Reaves of Fleming County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Charles Cooper of the same County and State aforesaid of the other art Witnesseth that the said Elijah Reaves for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars current money of the state aforesaid to him in hand paid by the said Charles Cooper the receipt whereof the said Elijah Reaves doth hereby confess acknowledge have bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Charles Cooper and to his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land containing by estimation one hundred acres of land be the same more or less situate lying and being in the aforesaid County of Fleming on the waters of Foxes Creek being part of the Lott No. 11 one of the lotts of thirty thousand acres patented in the name of Littleberry Morby heir at law to John Morby Decd and bounded as follows -
Beginning at Elisha Hills north east corner thence south two hundred and Eighty poles to said Hills south east corner thence East to James Hairs south corner thence North East wardly with said Hairs line to his north west corner thence north westardly to the Beginning to have and to hold the aforesaid one hundred acres with all the appurtenances to the said Charles Cooper and his heirs forever and the said Elijah Reaves for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant and agree with him the said Charles Cooper and his heirs that him the said Elijah Reaves and his heirs well and shall forever warrant and defend the said before mentioned one hundred acres of land with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to the said Charles Cooper and his heirs forever from the claim of him the said Elijah Reaves and his heirs and all other persons or persons whatsoever claiming or pretending to claim any right title or interest thereto. In testimony whereof the said Elijah Reaves hath to this Indenture set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written.

State of Kentucky Fleming County
I Joshua Stockton clerk of the County Court of said County do certify that the foregoing Indenture of Bargain and Sale from Elijah Reeve to Charles Cooper was this day produced before me and proved by the oath of John Royse on the 8th day of August 1809 and was also proved by the oath of James Stockwell on the 7th day of August 1809 and on this day was fully proved by the oath of Elijah Reeve all subscribing witnesses thereto and is together with this certificate duly recorded in my office.
Given under my hand the 13th November 1809
