This Indenture made this Twenty third Day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Ten, Between James Patterson high Sheriff of Greene County and state of Tennessee of the one part, and Coonrod Hulvey of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth, that whereas Henry Dyche executor, and Elisabeth Reeves Executrix of John Reeves Deceased - Received a Judgement Before John Russell Esquire one of the Justices of the peace for the county of Greene against George Jameson for the sum of Forty five Dollars and seven cents Debt, and fifty cents cost, on the fifth day of October 1809 - whereupon an execution was issued by the said John Russell Eqsuire against the goods and chattels lands and tennements of the said George Jameson and levied by Jame sMcPheran a constable of said County on two Hundred acres of Land on the south side of Lick Creek on the waters of a branch that runs into Little Chuckey below the lands of the widow Reeves, it being the land whereon George Jameson lived which execution was returned to our Court of Pleas and quarter session holden for the County of Greene on the fourth monday in October 1809. Whereupon on the said fourth monday of October in the year aforesaid, the said Court by their Clerk Issued an order of sale directed to the sheriff of Greene County commanding him to expose to publick sale the said two hundred acres of land situated as aforesaid as the property of the said George Jameson to satisfy the said Hery and Elisabeth in the said sum of Forty five Dollars and seven cents debt and fifty cents costs, with the additional sum of three dollars and fifteen cents costs about his said suit expended. By virtue of the said order and by virtue of the power in me by law vested I the said James Patterson sheriff as aforesaid by my Deputy Andrew Patterson did expose to publick sale at the Courthouse in Greeneville being duly advertised as the law directs, on the 20th day of January 1810, no part of which would sell for the amount of Debt and costs, the whole therefore was sold to Coonrod Halvey for eighty one Dollars, he being the highest and best bidder therefor, in consideration thereof and in consideration of the sum aforesaid to the said James Patterson Sheriff in hand paid by the said Coonrod Hulvey the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged the said James Patterson SHeriff as aforesaid hath granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Coonrod Hulvey his heirs and assigns forever, the aforesaid two hundred acres of land situated and lying as aforesaid. Beginning at a stake, then along Richard Woods line north sixty east one hundred and twenty poles to a white oak, then south forty five oast two hundred and fifty poles to a stake, then south fifty five west one hundred and forty four poles to a stake then a direct line to the Beginning, containing five hundred acres of Ground with the Hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging. To have and to hold the said two hundred acres of land to the said Coonrod Hulvey his heirs and assigns forever, I the said James Patterson do convey as fully and absolutely as I might, could or ought to Grant Bargain or sell the same by virtue of my office as sheriff aforesaid, In testimony whereof I the said James Patterson sheriff as aforesaid have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.Signed Sealed and Delivered }James Patterson (LS)
