KNOW ALL men by these presents that we Charles Reavis (sic Reves) Peter Reves and Dudley Glass of Halifax County are held and firmly bound unto his excellency George William Smith Esquire Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia now exercising the function of Governor and to his successors in the Office of Governor in the Just and full sum of Fifteen hundred Dollars to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Lieutenant Governor and to his successors in the Office of Governor we bind our selves our Executors and administrators Jointly and Severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our Seals now dated this 22d day of July 1811. The condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas the above bound Charles Reves hath been appointed by the Court of the County of Halifax one of the Constables of the said County If therefore the said Charles Reaves (sic Reves) Shall in all things truly and faithfully execute the said Office of Constable during the time of his continuance therein by performing all the duties thereof as required and prescribed by law then this Obligation to be Void otherwise to remain in full force and Virtue ~
