Transcript

This Indenture made this 28th day of January in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twelve, between Henry G Kearney of Maury County and State of Tennessee of the one part, and Joel Reeves of said County and State of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Henry G for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars to him in hand paid, by the Joel, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, and thereof doth requit and discharge him the said Joel, his heirs &c forever, hath given, granted, bargained, sold, aliened, released and confirmed unto the said Joel and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell unto the said Joel, a certain tract or parcel of land, containing by computation two hundred and thirty eight acres, be the same more or less, bounded as follows, to wit,
Beginning at a sugar-tree at the upper end of a Bluff, the original beginning corner of Hind's five hundred acre survey; of which survey the said two hundred and thirty eight acres is a part, Running down the Rover, with its meanders to a stake at or near Lewis Horse ford, in the original line of said survey. Thence south with said line, one hundred and thirty four poles to the beginning.
With all houses, orchards, ways, waters, water-courses &c, thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. To have and to hold the said two hundred and thirty acres, to the said Joel & his heirs forever, And the said Henry G hereby warrants and defends the title to the said Land from himself and every other person whatever. In testimony whereof, the said Henry G hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day date first above written
