Transcript or Summary

This Indenture made this fourteenth day of March in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twelve, between Reuben Reves, of the State of Tennessee, Maury County, of the one part, and Edmund Harris, of the State and County aforesaid, of the other part. Witnesseth, the said Reves, for and in consideration of the sum of thirteen and one third dollars, to him paid in hand, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff and confirm unto the said Harris, his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of Land, containing five acres. Beginning at a large Poplar, on the West boundary line of James Hollands five thousand acres, that includes the mouth of Fountain Creek; and runs thence North thirty one degrees East, sixty three poles to a stake, on the South bank of Duck River; and thence West twenty six poles and eighteen links, to an Ironwood, thence south fifty seven poles to the place of beginning; With all and singular, the woods, waters, and water courses and profit, commodities, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract of Land belonging, And the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders, rents and issues thereof; and the estate, title, interest, profit, claim and demand of said Reves, his heirs and assigns forever, of, in and to the same, and every part and parcel thereof, either in Law or Equity.
        To have and to hold, the said five acres of Land, with the appurtenances unto the said Harris, and his heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful title and demand of all and every person or persons, said Reves will forever warrant and defend by these presents. In witness whereof, said Reves, has hereunto set his hand and seal, the day and year above written.
