This Indenture made this third day of August in the year or our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twelve between Joseph Hamrick of the state & County aforesaid of the one part & John Reeves of the state & Cty aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to him in hand paid at or before the sealing of these presents by the said John Reeves the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath this day bargained & sold & by these presents doth bargain, sell, convey & confirm unto the sd John Reeves a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the sd County on Williamsons Creek part of a tract of land granted to Basil Jones Joining John Hogg & including the long Shoal on said Creek Beginning on a holly on sd Creek running N77 6g E39 chan & 72 links to a Red oak thence S12 E22 Chan & 39 links to a pine thence S79 W22 chan & 36 links to a hickory thence S13 E22 Chan 36 links to a post oak thence S77 W26 Chan & 36 links to a post O on sd Creek thence up this sd Creek to the Beginning containing one hundred & fifty acres more or less To have & to hold the sd premises & appurtenances thereunto or in any wise belonging or Appertaining & I the sd Joseph Hamrick doth warrant & forever defend the sd tract or land or parcel of land & every part thereof against the lawful claim or claims of all & every person or persons whatsoever laying nay claim to sd land or premises unto the said John Reeves his heirs & assigns forever in fee simple In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the day & date first above written.
