Transcript

In the name of God Amen. I Joseph Reeves of the State of Georgia and County of Pulaski am weak of Body, yet of perfect mind and memory, well knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do ordain and constitute this to be my Last Will and Testament in the manner and form following: That is to say, first and foremost I give and bequeath my body to the Earth, and my soul to God who gave it me. And as to my worldly estate with which it hath pleased God to bless me with I dispose of in the manner following - First I desire that all my lawful debts be paid by my executors hereafter named - and that all my estate both real and personal be kept together for the use and support of my beloved wife for and during the term of her life time, and after her death all my lands namely Lott No 311 which I now line on and the half of Lotte No 327 adjoining the former cornerwise which is all the lands I now possess also one negro girl named lady together with the aforesaid Lands, I give and bequeath to my son Willis B. Reeves but if the aforesaid negro girl lady should die before he the said Willis Reeves has then and in such case he shall draw an equal share of my negroes with the rest of my children hereafter named - Next I give all the ballance of my estate which is not heretoforenamed, after the death of my said wife I give to my grandson Abner Moor the sum of six dollars as his share of my estate also I give to my late son John's daughter Patsy the sum of six dollars as her full share of my estate. The rest of my estate not heretofore named, after the death of my wife as above named shall be equally divided into five equal shares one of which shall go to the heirs of my late Daughter Sinthy as her full part one share to my Daughter Winney as her full part. One to my Daughter Anne as her full part one to my Daughter Francis as her full part, and one to my Daughter Peggy as her full part. And I do nominate my wife as executors and my son Willis B. Reeves an David Small Executors of this my Last will and testament Renouncing all former wills or testaments heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen.

Personally appears in open Court Joel Reeves one of the subscribing witnesses to the within will and being duly sworn saith that he subscribed the within will himself and saw Jacob Snell and Daniel Rhodes subscribe themselves to Last Will all in the presents of Joseph Reeves the testator & heard said Testator say in his last sickness that this was his last will and testament to wit at the time that they subscribed themselves as witnesses
