South Carolina Lancaster District Know all men by these Presents that I William Reves of the State & District above mentioned Planter For and in consideration Sum of 6 Hundred Dollars to me in and paid by Thomas Small of the State of South Carolina Lancaster District have have Bargained & sold & Released and by these Presets do Bargain grant sell & Release unto the said Thomas Small all that Plantation or Tract of Land containing Two Hundred and fifty acres Being two adjoining Surveyes Situate on Flat Creek in the State & District above Mentioned and both Tracts granted to Abraham Adams unto under the hand of his Excellency C. G. Montague Govr. SC. dated Twentieth January One Thousand Seven Hundred & Seventy Three the above mentioned Two Hundred acres Survey then Conveyed to Wilks Caston by a deed from F. Hail 5th day of January 1807 Conveyed to the said Hail by Colden Williams by a Power of Attorney conveyed to Colding Williams by a deed from the above said Adams date 9 N day of February 1807 the Land beginning Post Oak Running E. 44. 72 to a Post thence 44 (?) to a Post W.44.72 to a Jack oak So. 44.72 to the beginning Corner the other fifty acres Situate on Flat Creek bounded on the above said Two Hundred Acres of Land originally granted to Abraham Adams bearing date 11th of August 1774 the said Land conveyed by a deed from said Adams to Colding Williams then by a Power of Attorney to F. Hail and by a Deed to Wilks Caston the Land beginning on a Black oak thence So. 22 (?) To a Black Oak thence E 22.36 to a Post thence No. 22-36 to a Black Oak and thence to the Beginning Corner Together with all and Singular the rights members Hereditaments & appurtanances to the said Premesis being or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold all and Singular the Premises above Mentioned unto the said Thomas Small his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend all and Singular the said Premises unto the said Thomas Small his heirs & assigns Forever against myself my heirs and every other Person or Persons Whomsoever Lawfully Claiming or to claim the same or any Part thereof In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hand and (?) our Seal this 24th day of December 1816.                               William Reves (seal)

Lancaster District }   I James Deason one of the Justices of the Quorum do hereby Certify unto all whom it may concern that Rhody Reves the wife of the within Named William Reves did this day appear before me and upon being privately and separately Examined by me did declare that she does freely voluntarily with without any compulsion dread or fear of any Person or Persons whomsoever renounce release and Forever relinquish unto the within Named Thomas Small Jur. his heirs and assigns all her Interest & Estate and also her right and Claim of dower of in or to all and Singular the Premises within mentioned and Released

Lancaster District } Personally appeared before me John Reeves and was duly sworn as the Law directs sayeth that he was Present and saw William Reeves & Rhody Reeves sign seal and as their act and Deed Deliver the within Instrument of Writing To Thomas Small for the use and intent Set forth and further sayeth John Reeves did assign as a Subscribing witness with with himself Sworn to before me this 5 January 1818                                                                                                                               John Reeves
