This Indenture made this third day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventeen Between Martha Reaves of Blount County and State of Tennessee of the one part and Henry Dyche Senr of the County of Greene and State aforesaid of the other part- Witnesseth that the said Martha Reaves for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to her in hand paid by the said Henry Dyche Senr the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged - hath Given, Granted, Bargained, sold, aliened conveyed and confirmed unto the said Henry Dyche senr his Heirs and assigns forever - a certain tract or parcel of Land - Lying and being in the County of Greene and State of Tennessee - originally Granted to my Father John Reaves by the State of North Carolina - and Left to me and my sister Milley by my said Father's Last Will and Testament - the said Land Lying on the waters of Little chuckey and Bounded as follows, viz. Beginning on a stake on said Henry Dyche's Line, thence south forty two east one hundred and eighteen poles along the said line to a white oak, thence south twenty one poles to a black oak, thence south fifty five west one hundred and twenty poles along a conditional line made Between the said John Reaves and Mark Mitchel to a white oak, thence North Seventy five west forty six poles to a stake and from there a Direct course to the Beginning, Containing eighty acres - and the said Henry Dyche- To have and to hold the aforesaid lands with all and singular the rights profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same Belonging or in anywise appertaining to the only proper use and Behoof of him the said Henry Dyche his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Martha Reaves for herself her executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said Henry Dyche his heirs or assigns, that the Before Recited lands and bargained premises she will warrant and forever defend against the right, title, interest or claim of all and every person or persons whatever.
