Transcript

This Indenture made this eighteenth day of April eighteen hundred and eighteen, between Edmond Harris of Maury County & State of Tennessee of the one part, and Elijah Reaves of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Edmond Harris, for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred & ninety two and a half dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath this day given, granted, bargained & sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey, theof and confirm unto the said Elijah Reaves, one certain tract or parcel of Land, situate, lying & being in Maury County, State of Tennessee, on the South side of Duck River, and including part of said River about two fourths of a mile below the mouth of Fountain Creek, being part of a tract of five thousand acres granted to James Holland, and part of five thousand acres granted to Joseph Hinds, containing by estimation thirty eight and one half acres be the same more or less.
Beginning at a stake, the south west corner of Andrew Goff's tract in the west boundary line of James Hollands tract, on the south bank of Duck Rover, at a point south thirty degrees west & twenty poles from the said Hollands beginning corner, and runs thence west with the South boundary of said Goff's thirty six poles & eighteen links to a stake in said line, the same being the North East corner of Reuben Reaves Decd.
Thence south with his line fifty seven poles to a large Poplar, another of his corners in the west boundary line of said Hollands - thence South thirty degrees west into said West boundary line, thirty seven poles to two white oaks. The second corner called for in said Hollands Grant, thence south one degree East with the line of said Grant, sixty eight poles to two Ashes & Dogwood on said line, thence East forty poles to a slippery Elm, & oak sapling, on the west bank of Duck River, thence down said River with the main channel thereof and the line of Banes Bridge to point in said River, East of the beginning, thence west with said Bridges line passing a Black oak on the south bank, and to the beginning,
To have & to hold, the above mentioned land and bargained premises, with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appertaining, with the reversion or reversions, rents and issues thereof, or any part or parcel thereof, either in law or equity, unto the proper use, benefit & behoof of him the said Elijah Reaves, his heirs or assigns forever, And the said Edmond Harris doth warrant and forever defend the title of the said land, against the lawful claim or title of all persons claiming by him his &c, and all persons whatsoever.

On the back of the above Deed was written
State of Tennessee, Maury County, April Term 1818.
Then the written deed of Conveyance was produced in open Court, and the execution thereof duly acknowledged by Edmond Harris and ordered to be certified for Registration.
