Transcript

This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen between William Reeves of the City of Baltimore in Baltimore County in the State of Maryland Mariner of the one part and James Cordery of the same City County and State of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Reeves for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred dollars current money to him paid by the said James Cordery at or before the signing sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said William Reeves doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained sold assigned transfered and set over and by these presents doth grant bargain sell assign transfer and set over unto the said James Cordery his executors administrators and assigns a brick house and piece or parcel of ground situate lying and being on Fells Point in the City of Baltimore aforesaid and contained within the following metes bounds courses and distances Beginning for the same being part of lot Number one hundred and sixty two at the north east corner or intersection of Fleet Street and Star Alley and running thence north binding on Star Alley sixty feet thence east parallel with Fleet Street twenty feet thence south parallel with Star Alley sixty to Fleet Street and thence west binding on Fleet Street feet to the Beginning Together with the buildings and improvements thereon made priviledges advantages and appurtenances and all the right title and interest of the said William Reeves therein and To Have And To Hold the said brick house and piece or parcel of ground herein above described the premises and appurtenances unto the said James Cordery his executors administrators and assigns for all the rest residue and remainder of the term of years yet to come and unexpired of the original lease on record of said lot number one hundred and sixty two Together with the benefit of renewments forever Subject nevertheless to the payment of the yearly ground rent or sum of fifteen dollars current money payable to such person or persons lawfully authorised to demand and receive the same provided nevertheless and it is the true intent and meaning hereof and of parties hereunto that if the said William Reeves his executors administrators do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said James Cordery his executors administrators or assigns the said sum of seven hundred dollars current money with legal interest for the same on or before one year from the day of the date of these presents then this obligation and every matter and thing herein contained shall cease determine and be utterly null and void to all intents and purposes whatsoever and the premises herein mentioned shall be released unto the said William Reeves his executors administrators and assigns otherwise shall be and remain in full force and virtue in law In Witness whereof the said William Reeves hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written

Baltimore County to wit On the twenty fifth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen before us the subscribers two Justices of the peace for Baltimore County aforesaid personally appeared the above named party grantor William Reeves and acknowledged this Indenture of Assignment or mortgage deed to be his act and deed according to the true intent and and meaning thereof
