William Reves Deed to Hardin Burton 200 acres
This Indenture made this 6th day of September A.D. one thousand Eight hundred and twenty between William Reves & Hardin Burton Both of the County of Ashe and State of North Carolina Witnesseth, that he the Said William Reves for and in consideration of Two hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the Said Hardin Burton, the receipt whereof the Said William Reves doth hereby acknowledge, and himself therewith fully Satisfied and paid, hath granted, bargained and Sold & conveyed and doth by these presents fully, clearly and absolutely convey & confirm unto the Said Hardin Burton his heirs and assigns forever a tract of land Containing two hundred acres in the County of Ashe, Beginning at a Spanish oak William Hills corner, on the west Side of Elk Creek, runing East one hundred and fifty Six Poles crossing Said Creek to a Chestnut in William Burtons line, then South one hundred and Eighty one Poles to a white oak on the Camp (?) Fork of Said Creek, then West one hundred and fifty Six Poles to a Stake, in Hills line, then to the first Station, Together with every right, title, priviledge and emolument to the Said land belonging or in anywise appertaining, and he the Said William Reves doth bind himself his Executors well and truly to warrant and ever defend the aforesaid primises (sic) with all its appertainances (sic) to him the Said Hardin Burton his heirs and assigns forever free and clear of all incumberances (sic) and claims whatsoever, In witness whereof he the Said William Reaves hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal, this day and date first above written, Signed sealed and delivered in presents of
