This Indenture made and entered into the 19th day of December in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty between Thomas Rives Senr of the state of Georgia & County of Jackson of the one part & Charles Hemphill of said state and County of the other part. Witnesseth that I the said Thomas Rives Senr for and in Consideration of the sum of two thousand three hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by the said Charles Hemphill the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath this day bargained sold & conveyed & by these presents doth bargain sell and convey unto the said Charles Hemphill his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of Land situate lying & being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Currys Creek beginning on a stake & and oak corner with John King on the original line thence North 20 M 55 Chs & 50 Lks to John Kings state corner on Kinninghams line thence North Seven East five chains to a white oak Corner on the side of a small branch Thence down the boundary of said branch to the Confluence of said branch with the big branch thence up the meanders of said large branch to a white oak corner on Mrs. Kinninghams line thence North 20 M with Mrs Kinningham line to a Pine Corner on the original line thence North 70 East 48 Chs to a Pine Corneer the original corne then South 20 East 80 Chs teo where the original read oak corner stood and Painters thence Sough 70 (unreadable) 53 chs to the beginning which tract or parcel within described land making four hundred acres be the same more or less being part of a tract of land originally granted to Leona Marbury for Seven hundred & fifty and which tract or parcel of land with all & every of the improvements belonging to or in any wise pertaining to the above described premises I do warrant & for ever defend for me and my hers & from the Claim or Claims of any other person or persons whatever in fee simple to the said Charles Hemphill his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my Seal the day & date above written.

Depriest sign the same as a witness & he this deponent further saith that he saw Thomas Rives Senr seal and deliver the same for the within Contents named this 1st day of December 1821.
