Transcript
This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one between Elijah Reaves of the one part & Stephen Smith of the other part Both of the County of Maury and State of Tennessee Witnesseth that the said Elijah Reaves for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Stephen Smith the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained aliened conveyed and confirmed unto the said Stephen Smith his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Maury and State aforesaid on the North Side of Duck River buted and bounded as follows Beginning at Stone pointer one hundred poles from Banes Bridge deceased North East corner being Nathaniel Murpheys North East Corner Running East one hundred poles to an elm and pile of rocks, thence South one degree East two hundred and nine poles to a stake on the South Side of Duck River on Edmon Harris line thence west with said line Eighty poles to Nathanl Murphys corner thence North with his line to the beginning containing one hundred and seventeen acres and ninety poles being a part of a five thousand acre tract of land granted to James Holland. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the Rights profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Stephen Smith his heirs and assigns forever and the said Elijah Reaves for himself his heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said Stephen Smith his heirs or assigns that the before recited land and bargained premises will warrant and forever defend against the right title interest or claim of all and every person or persons whatsoever.
