Transcript

I Arthur Reeves of the Township of Deptford County of Gloucester and State of New Jersey being weak in Body but of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this for my Last will and Testament. viz First it is my desire that all my just debts and expenses be paid (by my executors herein after to be named) out of my personal property as soon as practicable after my decease. Second I give and bequeath unto my sister Beulah Clayton wife of Edward Clayton all my undivided right title and interest in and to a certain piece of land and premises situate in the township of Deptford County of Gloucester & State of New Jersey, and to all other lands to her heirs and assigns forever. Third I give unto my said sister Beulah Clayton my Bed Bedding and Brastead which is now at Edward Claytons. Fourth I also bequeath unto my aforesaid sister Beulah Claytons all the amount of money which is due to me now in the hands of Joseph Cook esquire and all other money which is due or to become due together with all the residue of my personal property of whatsoever kind or wheresoever to be found to be paid and delivered unto her as soon as practicable after my decease. Sixth It is my express will and intent that all the above mentioned legacies which I have bequeathed unto my aforesaid sister Beulah Clayton be paid by my executor to her, and to her only for her own particular use and benefit and not at any time to be payable to, or liable to the order or claim of her husband. Also that she shall have the exclusive right & priviledge to receive all the profit and behefits which may arise from the above mentioned land and premises unto her devised, and the same to be not at any time subject to the claim demand or order of her said Husband. I appoint my friend Isaac Hinikman sole executor of this my testament and last will.
In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal the tenth day of October in the year of our LORD one thousand eight hundred and twenty one 1821.

Joseph Hinchman one of the subscribing witnesses to the written will being duly affirmed according to law upon his solemn affirmation such that he saw Arthur Reeves the testator therein named sign and seal the same and heard him publish pronounce and declare the within writing to be his last will and testament and at the doing thereof the said Testator was of sound disposing mind and memory as far as this affirmant knows and as he verily believes and that Isaac Hinchman and Sarah Hunchman the other subscribing witnesses were present at the same time and subscribed their names thereto as witnesses together with this affirmant in the presence of the said testator.
