State of South Carolina
Know all men by these presents that I Levy Godbold of the District of Fairfield & State aforesaid for in consideration of the sum of two hundred Dollars 44 cents to me paid in hand by William Reaves of the State and District aforesaid have granted bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell & release unto the said Wm Reaves of the State and District aforesaid all that plantation or tract of land containing fifty six acres & eighty eight hundred part of an acre situate in the State & District aforesaid on thorntree creek waters of the wateree River Bounded NE & SE by Thomas Muses lands SW by Isaac Knightons lands and NW by Milley Harrisons land the forms and marks of which will appear by the above plat it being part of a tract granted to Daniel Misse for one hundred acres in April 1774 and conveyed from said Muse to Martain and from Martain to Jesse Godbolt and is part of Legacy from said Godbolt. Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments & appurtenances in any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said William Reaves his heirs and assigns forever - and I do hereby bind myself my heirs executors & administrators & assigns to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said William Reaves his heirs & assigns forever against myself my heirs & assigns against every person oor persons whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this eight of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three and in the forty seventh year of the Independence of the United States of America. Personally appeared before me Nathan Godbold and made oath that he saw Levy Godbold sign seal and deliver within conveyance for the use and purposes therein mentioned & he with Isaac Knighton in the presence of each other witnessed the Due Execution thereof

I do hereby certify unto all whom it may concern that Winneford the wife of the within named Levy Godbold did this day appear before me and upon being privately & separately examined by me did declare that she does freely voluntarily and with out any compulsion dread or fear of any person or persons whomsoever renounces release and forever relinquishes unto the within named William Reaves his heirs & assigns all her interest & estate and also all her right and claim of Dower of in or to all and singular the premises within mentioned and released. Given under my hand & seal 8th day Feby 1823
