At the Request of John G Reives and by permission of Jacob Cherry I have admeasured & laid of the above delineated plate or tract of land containing by estimation one hundred & one half (acres) being part of a tract of land containing 640 acres granted to James Craig the 7th day of May 1824 lying and being on Dreans of Thorntree waters of Wateree River in the District Fairfield and hath such shape & marks as the above platt represented - surveyed Sept 22d 1824

Know all men by these presents that I Jacob Cherry in consideration of the sum of two hundred & fifty one dollars & twenty five cents to me paid by John G Reives of Fairfield District in the state aforesaid, have granted, bargained, sold & released and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell & release unto the said John G Reives his heirs & assigns all that plantation or tract of land containing one hundred and one half acres more or less being part of a tract of land containing 640 acres granted to James Craig the seventh May 1804 lying and being on drains of Thornton creek waters of wateree river in the state & District aforesaid which will more fully & plainly appear by a plat hereunto annexed certified the 22d day Sept 1824 by James Kennedy - Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining - To have and to hold all & singular the premises before mentioned, unto the said John G Reives his heirs & assigns forever and O do hereby bind myself my heirs, executors and administrators, to warrant & forever defend all and singular the premises unto the said John G Reives his heirs and assigns against myself & my heirs, executors, administrators & assigns and against all other persons whatever Lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. Witness my hand and seal this 21st day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty fivev & in the forty ninth year of the Independence of the United States of America

Rives and made oath that he saw Jacob Cherry sign seal & deliver the above conveyance for the uses and purposes therein mentioned & that he wiith Hampton Kelly in the presence of each other wintessed the due execution thereof - Sworn before me this 15th of August 1825

I do hereby certify unto all whom it may concern that Mary Cherry the wife of the within named Jacob Cherry did this day appear before me and upon being privately and separately examined by me did declare that she does fully voluntarily and without compulsion dread or fear of any person or persons whomsoever, renounce release and forever relinquish unto the within named John G Rives his heirs & assigns all her interest and estate and also all her right and claim of Dower of in and to all & singular the premises within mentioned & released. Given under my hand and seal this 15th August 1825
