KNOW all men by these presents that we John U. Reeves Peyton Mills John S. Fairfax & Francis Simpson are held and firmly bound unto James Pleasants Governor of Virginia and to his successors for the use of the Commonwealth in the sum of two thousand dollars to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and each of us our and each heirs Executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 7th day of June 1825. The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound John U. Reeves was on the 6th day of June (inst) appointed by the County Court of Prince William a Constable for the term of Two years Now if the said Reeves shall well and truly in all things appertaining to the said Office of Constable in the said County of Prince William for which he has been appointed as aforesd. then the above Obligation to be void Else to remain in full force and virtueSealed & Delivered } John U.
